Business Development Officer
Strategic Partner Business Development Officer ("Business Development Officer" or "BDO")
WebBank (the "Bank") is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is an FDIC-insured, state-chartered industrial bank that provides customized consumer and commercial financing solutions on a nationwide basis.
The Bank, under the management of the Bank's Strategic Partnership Group ("SP Group"), is a leading provider of closed-end and revolving private-label and bank card financing programs.
Operating in cooperation with third-party vendor relationships ("Strategic Partners"), the Bank originates and funds a variety of consumer and commercial (small to medium-size business) private-label (closed-loop network) or bank card (i.e. MasterCard) programs ("Strategic Partner Programs").
The Business Development Officer reports directly to the SP Group Director and is responsible for managing the initial development, due diligence and selection process of Strategic Partners and Strategic Partner Programs. The BDO shall be the single point of contact for each prospective partner in order to manage the Bank's initial due diligence and selection process, as well as support the SP Group in the in-depth due diligence, contract negotiations, and implementation processes. The BDO shall work closely with the Business Research Analyst and other respective departments within the Bank and third-party resources (i.e. Outside Counsel, Independent Third-Party Specialists) that are required to complete the initial due diligence and selection process of prospective partners.
Bachelors degree and minimum of 10 years of highly consultative executive-level sales/business development experience in the consumer and/or commercial financing sector.
Experience in closed-end and revolving
consumer and small business credit offerings required. Commercial finance experience is a plus.
Ability to plan strategically, evaluate
and determine target markets and prospects, and aggressively seek out new
prospects and opportunities within such target markets.
Ability to lead the process of sourcing, structuring, negotiating,
and implementing a highly structured financing program.
Strong ability to analyze and structure deals including pricing
and risk analysis.
Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to package
and present a deal to the SP Group Director, SP Executive Management Team, Loan
Committee and the Board for approval.
Superior communication and negotiation skills to communicate
effectively across a broad base including internal customers, external customer
and executive management.
Ability to interface effectively with other departments and operate in a fast paced environment with minimum supervision.
Outstanding initiative, attention to detail and organizational
Ability to recognize and focus on priority opportunities for the
